Gratitude and Greetings Before Holiday Closures

Gratitude and Greetings Before Holiday Closures

By Kerrie Gottliebsen

In 2017 Tweddle supported over 3000 mums, dads, babies and toddlers, but we couldn’t have done it without the help of many generous donors, volunteers and partners.

We are grateful to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for their continued support as this allows us to improve outcomes for vulnerable families through our Residential, PASDS and Day Stay programs.

We are thankful to the Collier Charitable Fund, The William Angliss Charitable Fund, Give Where You Live, Wynhdam City Council, Hobsons Bay City Council, North Western Melbourne PHN, Grill’d, Probus Group of West Footscray, The Zonta Club of Melbourne’s West, the 6A Foundation, Sims Supermarket, Pethard Tarax Charitable Trust, The Lions Club of Altona, The Rotary Club of Footscray, The Probus Group of West Footscray,  Ms Jacqueline Stephens and a number of generous individuals who provided in-kind support, hours of working bee volunteering and donations big and small.

We’d like to extend our appreciation to the Friends of Tweddle lead by Jo Norton. This team has transformed Tweddle’s outside play area and residential unit with new carpet, paint and furnishings.

In 2017 Tweddle launched a new website and strategic plan. We hosted the “Babies, Business & The Bottom Line’ Business Breakfast as part of Infant Mental Health Awareness Week. We presented a number of seminars, professional development opportunities and research papers.

Development on Tweddle’s new family pod commenced and we delivered the Working Out Dads, Cradle2Kinder and Circle of Security programs.

Tweddle delivered programs in partnership with Djerriwarrh Health Service, Brimbank City Council, Terang & Mortlake Health Service, Whittlesea City Council, Wyndham City Council, Hobsons Bay City Council and Maribyrnong City Council. We would like to extend our thanks to the staff in these organisations who have worked with us to make community programs so successful.

We also thank the mums, dads and health professionals who place their trust in Tweddle to care for their families in difficult times. We are privileged to keep families safe and to build the attachment relationships that will strengthen families for life.

Tweddle will close over the festive season from Thursday 21st of December and reopen on Monday 8th of January. Tweddle’s MyTime groups align with school terms so will commence in the first week of February.
